Swanage lies in an area called The Isle of Purbeck, on the south coast of Dorset.
The population of the town is about 10,124.
It is the largest producer of Purbeck stones and marbles.
In the Victorian Era, it became a seaside resort from a small fishing village.
Every year, the town organizes a carnival at the beginning of August. It also offers educational field trips and romantic meals because of the Jurassic Coast, a world heritage site.
Swanage is also popular for sea water training mainly for scuba diving. Jet skis and pedal boats are available on hire in the summer and the south east cliff is used by climbers. It offers a variety of attractions.
