Telford lies in the borough of Wrekin and Telford in the county of Shropshire in England, with Birmingham to the west and Shrewsbury to the east of the city.
Telford has a total population of about 140,000 inhabitants, which makes it the largest town in the county and one of the fastest developing towns in the United Kingdom. The town is named after a famous civil engineer called Thomas Telford.
The city experiences a moderate climate with high levels of humidity and plenty of rain all through the year.
The levels of unemployment were high here, however, with several industries and foreign companies (hi-tech industries, IT industries and service industries) moving into the region there has been a considerable improvement in the town’s economy.
