Arbury Hall
Arbury Hall is situated about 5 miles from Atherstone. For more than 4 centuries, it has been the seat of the Newdegate family. Also it is the ancestral residence of Viscount and Viscountess Daventry. In the 18th century, Sir Roger Newdegate Gothicised this Tudor/Elizabethan structure. Currently, this edifice is considered as the “Gothic Gem” of the Midlands. Here, visitors can view furniture by Hepplewhite and Chippendale, portraits by Romney, Devis, Reynolds and Lely as well as an excellent collection of Chelsea and Oriental porcelain. This Hall is encircled by a beautiful Parkland that has winding wooded walks, lakes and landscaped gardens of rolling lawns. During June, one can see giant wisteria, azaleas and rhododendrons.
Bosworth Water Trust Leisure and Water Park
The Bosworth Water Trust Leisure and Water Park is almost 5 miles away from Atherstone. It is spread over an area of 50 acres. The lakes have an area of 20 acres and activities like canoeing, kayaking, sailing and windsurfing are carried out here.. Throughout the year, a snack bar is open. Adjoining the lake there are camping and caravan region. It is open from 09:00 to 17:00 (from March to June), 09:00 to 19:00 (from July to August) and 09:00 to 17:00 (from September to November).
