Grand Union Canal
Knowle is lucky enough to let Grand Union Canal pass through it. This canal is, in reality, a portion of ‘British canal system’. Main line on its part goes on to connect Birmingham and London, stretching for around 220 Km; that too, with 166 locks. It should be noted that ‘Grand Union Canal’ had also been original name with regards to portion of what’s now part of ‘Leicester Line’ of ‘Modern Grand Union’. The latter thing is now called Old Grand Union Canal. Of Course, such a thing was essential for averting ambiguity. An end of Grand Union Canal lies at Brentford; upon River Thames (West London). This is the place where canal follows River Brent’s engineering course. The point of demarcation is double Thames Lock located at Brentford. Visitors flock in thousands to have a look at this canal. The way it functions is just amazing.
