Since Ross-on-Wye is a market tow, the markets are a special features of this place. This town regularly holds markets on Saturday and Thursdays. The market house building was built between 1650 and 1654. This new building was the replacement for the previous wooden buildings.
The town hosts a beautiful St. Mary’s parish church which is 700 years old. This is the most important landmark in the town. The tall spire of the church is visible from any point in the town.
There are several historical domes located here too. One of the domes is by William Rudhall, who died in 1530. There is the tomb of John Kyrle too. He was an important personality of the 18th century.
Tourists can visit the River Wye for magnificent views of its surroundings. The river is famous for its horse shoe shaped bend. The mighty Black Mountains can be viewed from the banks of the river Wye.
Tourists never fail to visit the Amazing Hedge Puzzle located at Symonds Yat West. This is a huge maze, with twelve routes and thirteen dead ends. Even wheelchairs can enter the maze as the paths are wide enough to allow access.
