Stourport-on-Severn, more popular as Stourport, it is the only town which was built by a result of canals. This is the busiest inland port after Birmingham in West Midlands.
The town has a population of 19,713.
The town is situated on the River Severn.
After the construction of the canal, Stourport has rapidly grown, from a small town to a commercial centre. Here you can see many boat building yards, worsted spinning mills, tan yards, carpet mills etc. in today’s date the town has developed to become one the well known tourist destination, a place where you have many attractions to visit and modernized recreation activities , and not forget the numerous events taking place throughout the year.
