Wirral Metropolitan Borough or simply the Wirral is located in Merseyside near Greater Liverpool. The metropolitan borough is situated on the Wirral Peninsula. The total population is 311,235, as per the 2004 estimate.
The borough spreads over an area of 155 sq. km. The city of Liverpool on the Mersey River is situated on the eastern side of the borough. The Irish Sea lies on the northern side, while the River Dee lies on the western side of this borough. The borough of Wirral is formed by a combination of several villages and towns.
The metropolitan area and Liverpool are located in the North West region of England. The area experiences cool summers and mild winters due to the presence of the sea. Tourists can visit at any time throughout the year.
