York Minster

The York Minster is the 2nd largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe dating back to the 15th century.
The church has a huge area of stained glass covering more than 1700 square feet. Excellent views of the tower, resplendent in its floodlights, can be had from the main entrance at night.
York Minster has a large statue of Emperor Constantine the Great who was the 1st Christian Emperor of Rome and the founder of Constantinople.
The Chapter House in the cathedral has a carved sculpture of the Madonna and child, a ribbed wood ceiling with colourful panels and gilded bosses.
The Nave of the church is the widest and the highest in Europe and has a rose window above the entryway.
The throne of the Archbishop of York is located in the Choir area.
