York Art Gallery is a public art gallery situated in York in North Yorkshire and has a vast collection of paintings from the 14th century till date as well as ceramics from the 20th century. The building was constructed in 1879 for the Yorkshire Fine Art and Industrial Exhibition. The building was converted into an art gallery in the year 1892 and has a statue of William Etty made by Stanley Howe at the entrance.
