Carrickfergus Castle

This is a Norma style castle, which is placed in the town of Carrickfergus, along the shores of Belfast Lough. It has been inundated by the French, Scots, English and also the Irish. It has played a vital role for the military till the year 1928. It till date remains the finest conserved medieval structures in the complete Ireland. The castle was built by John de Courcy in the year 1177.

Carrickfergus Museum

The museum explains the extensive and notable past of the town and the surrounding district from the early days to the present days.  There is a separate part named ‘community archive’ which features the 20th century local, social history material, which is related to the Borough’s latest past. The museum is open all year around, and the admission is free.

St Nicholas’ Church

This is one of the best preserved 12th century church, it also contains striking innovative discolored glass and style. The church is a valuable treasure of history, with an exclusive curved walkway, Chichester Memorial and Lepers' Window.  The top secret of this antique place fascinate the visitors.
