Portstewart has a Dominican convent with an attached Dominican collage sitting on the edge of a cliff which dominates the western end of the promenade. Portstewart is home to the famous Morelli's ice-cream parlor and to the east of Portstewart is a popular walking and cycling.
Portstewart is home to three Golf clubs which are faced by the forceful Atlantic wind; the city has one of 54-hole complexes in Europe. The championship links Standard course is set amidst improving sand dunce with panoramic views. Every May the North West 200 motorcycle race through the town starting at the grid and pit area located on the coastal road between Portrush and Portsrewart is considered among the fastest in the world with speed racing topping 200mph. It is one of the classical races held in the Europe country, and is the largest outdoor sporting event in Ireland The city also hosts matches in the Milk Cup & Eagle Base ball team.
