Craigievar Castle
Rating:

The Craigievar Castle is a pink coloured seven storied castle which was home to the Forbes family till 1963.
This stunning Scottish tower house looks like a castle out of a fairy tale book.
The property has now been given to the National Trust for Scotland which manages and maintains more than hundred and twenty seven properties in the country.
Only one tower now remains of the 4 round towers, the massive Iron Gate and the walled courtyard which once existed.
The castle has a Great Hall which displays a gallery of musical collections.
The Queens bedroom has intricate plasterwork on the ceiling and there is a collection of paintings of the Forbes family inside the castle which dates back to the eighteenth century.
The castle is presently closed for renovation. There is no electricity in the castle but small wedding functions can be held here and the Great Hall can accommodate around forty five people.
