National Museum of Scotland is situated at Chambers Street in Edinburgh and is open from 10 to 5 from Monday to Saturday and 12 to 5 on Sunday.
The museum has 7 levels arranged in a chronological order.
The lowermost level gives information about the history of Scotland, the next two levels display the struggle of independence of the Kingdom of Scots, the next three levels give information from 1707 to the outbreak of World War I, the 6th level of the museum showcases Scotland in the 20th century and the final part of the museum is the roof garden.
The admission to the museum is free and is easily accessible from the center of the city.
The layout of the museum is a little confusing as there are corridors in the museum which connect to the National Museum of Scotland or the Royal Museum hence one needs to follow the color codes and numbers in the museum.
