The Edinburgh Zoo is regarded as the largest and the most exciting wildlife attractions in Scotland. It is totally committed to animal welfare highest standards, their conservation and also to the environmental education. This zoo is home to more than 1,000 great animals. Formerly known as the Scottish National Zoological Park, Edinburgh Zoo is a nonprofit zoological park too. The land where the zoo is situated lies on the Corstorphine Hill, from where one can even get to see and view the entire city of Edinburgh. This zoo is owned by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and was opened in 1913. It is spread over an area of 82 acres.
