With a wide variety of events to offer, Scotland provides lots of entertainment for its visitors. The Burns an’ a’ That! Festival, a tribute to the poet Robert Burns, is celebrated in his home town of Ayrshire. The Orkney Folk Festival, one of the oldest festivals of the region, attracts many visitors and provides a perfect blend of traditional music and culture. Sports is very popular in Scotland which is evident from various events such as World Adventure Racing Championships, Stranraer Half Marathon plus Junior Runs and Norwich Union Glasgow Grand Prix.
Scotland also hosts the Edinburgh International Film Festival in August. Come September and one can enjoy a heady mix of whisky and jazz music through the Islay Jazz Festival in Glasgow. The Wigtown Book Festival allows one to witness some of the greatest authors in action.
