One of the towns

to the northeast. According to the 2007 census, the residents of the town were
34,071. Falkirk has a similar type of maritime
climate as the rest of the country which is somewhat mild.
The town rests at the conjunction of the Union and the ClydeCanal,

spot of large industries throughout the Industrial growth. During the early eighteenth
and nineteenth centuries, the town enjoyed the importance of being the major spot
of a big steel and iron industry, supported by one of the biggest firms Carron
Company which emerged and grew near to the town.
