Glasgow Prestwick International Airport also referred to as Prestwick Airport is an international airport situated to the north of Prestwick town in South Ayrshire in Scotland.
The airport is run and operated by Infratil and has handled a passenger traffic of more than two million in the year 2006.
Ryanair uses this airport as a hub and today serves more than twenty destinations from here.
There have been several renovations and the airport proposes to include a 2 storey building to replace the present arrival and departure halls.
It also has plans to increase the airport stands to 12 and the car park outside the terminal building is also presently under transformation.
The airport has its own railway station, namely the Glasgow Prestwick Airport railway station. Buses to the airport are run and operated by Stagecoach Western.
