Cardigan is a very important city based on rich cultures, religion and values. It lies in the county of Ceredigion in the western part of Wales in UK. It is located at the centre of the intersection of the cities of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. The River Teifi also shares its water boundaries with this city. This city was founded in 1093 by Roger de Montgomery and thus stands as one of the oldest formed cities in this part. The population here is less, i.e. 4000 as counted by a recent census. The majority of the people here speak Welsh as their mother tongue. The city has recently undergone a major renaissance in which the old houses and shops that were designed according to the medieval times were given a face lift. This city also stands as the regional administrative centre for West Wales. The city is well equipped in basic amenities as well as in luxury. The city of Cardigan is twinned with Brioude in France.
