Cilcennin is a small town which is situated in the lower division of the county of Cardigan, South Wales, which is just 10 kilometers from Lampeter. It is further subdivided into the upper and lower village. The upper as well as the lower village contain around 700 residents and both the parts maintain their workings independently. The Cilcennin Woollen Factory is the place that provides daily earning for most of the residents. The total area that has been recorded here is just around 200 km² which means that it is a very small village in South Wales. According to the United Kingdom census in 2006 the village recorded a population of about 1400 inhabitants. The presence of many churches in the village clearly shows the major religion followed here is Christianity. A considerable portion of the land is under cultivation but cattle’s breeding is more prominent here because it is considered to have a large reserve of animals. The village experiences a favorable climate with temperatures ranging around 15 to 20 degrees.
