There are two Norman Castles which lies within a short distance from each other in Hay-on-Wye. The 1st castle lies close to St. Mary’s Church which overlooks a small stream running into River Wye. The stone castle is the main fortress, of the city, which has the oldest Norman tower in Wales and the castle has undergone several renovation and repair.
