Tourist Guide Alcester
Alcester is a small town in the south of in England which is approximately 8 miles to the west of Avon.
Situated on the Alne River, which is pronounced as olster or aulster, it has a population of six thousand.
The dates back to the early Roman period and it has a number of archaeological sites.
There are several historic buildings, traditional pubs and antique shops which one can visit.
There are a few local events such as the Town Criers competition which is held in April, the Annual Mop which is held in October as well as various markets and parades from time to time.
There are a number of organizations and clubs which encourage participation in arts and crafts and other activities for the people living in Alcester.
There are libraries, sports clubs and restaurants and shops where people can enjoy their free time.
The town has a warm, sunny climate.
