Alnwick lies in the north of Northumberland in the north east of England.

This district has a population of approximately thirty two thousand people and stretches from the Northumberland national park to the magnificent heritage coast including a number of villages, towns and ancient castles along the way.

The place has a cool, dry climate with extremely cold winters and warm summers.

There has been rapid development in the region over the last ten years as the area has grown from a rural and agrarian community to a commercial one with a number of factories, trading, housing and other commercial complexes being built.

It has a multipurpose art centre which stages a variety of programmes including music, dance, cinema, exhibitions and more.
