Tourist Guide Arnold:

Arnold is on the outskirts of Nottingham in England. Its boundary extends from three to six miles north of the city of Nottingham. It is in the local government district of Gelding. The town is largely populated. The population of this town is 35,900 as per the 2000 census.

In the book called “Doomsday Book” Arnold is known to be called as Ernehale which translates as the “valley of eagles”. Because of the local topography Arnold can never be haunted by eagles since they inhabit areas of rocky outcrops which have formed Cliffs. The main occupation of the people living here is Framework Knitting. Arnold was a centre of the Framework Knitting Industry in the 19th century. Bonington was a famous English painter who was born in Arnold near Nottingham. He was one of the first painters in the country to adopt the techniques of the English Landscape painters of the period such as John Constable. His famous paintings were Henry and The Spanish Ambassador.
