Ashington Festival

This yearly festival occurs in the month of October. It is the event when whole of Ashington comes together and joins in the celebrations. This ‘Festival of Arts’ goes on to depict various art works by natives of Ashington. As such, the duration of this event isn’t all that long but it gets held in such a way that people can’t stop waiting for the month of October every year.

Woodhorn Colliery Museum

Woodhorn Colliery Museum adjacent to Ashington goes on to present displays with regards to mining history of Northumberland. It has been set in country park; that too, with playground.

Timings

This museum remains open from 1st of April to 31st of October between Wednesdays and Sundays from 1000 to 1700 hrs. From 1st of November to 31st of March, the museum closes down at 1600 hrs.
