Marsh Farm Country Park
At a distance of 7 miles from South Benfleet, the Marsh Farm Country Park is located. This park offers an educational and enjoyable day out for the visitors. Children can go close to farm animals and safely play in the adventure play region. Everyday there are milking demonstrations. During school holidays, bank holidays and weekends, there are activities like craft, a driving school, a bouncy castle, pony rides and tractor and trailer rides. All sorts of groups are welcomed at this park. If the visiting group consists of 15 or more persons, then there is a 10 percent discount on the entrance fees. Depending on the time of the year, it is possible to book a sheep shearing demonstration or a tractor and trailer ride or a milking demonstration. This region is a good illustration of Essex grazing marshes, where there are rare plants like grass vetchling and sea barley.
RHS Garden Hyde Hall
9 Miles from South Benfleet one reaches the RHS Garden Hyde Hall. This is open everyday, except Christmas Day from 10:00 and closes at 18:00 in mid-summer and 16:00 in mid-winter. The final entry takes place one hour before closure. This Hall is built in a 360 acre estate. There is a dry garden spread over 1600 square meters where there are more than 730 species of plants and this serves as an evidence of the style and range of plants that can be grown. In the Robinson Garden there are plants that prefer damp, shady and cool ambience. One can also visit the Themed vegetable plots, garden for wildlife, Rose Garden and Australian and New Zealand Garden.
