Bideford is a port town which is situated on the bank of the Torridge River to the north of Devon. This place has a population of fourteen thousand six hundred people.
The New Year is celebrated in style with all people dressed in fancy clothes gathering on the long bridge to hear the parish church bells ring. The local farmers sell their daily farm products including dairy products in the local markets or the Pannier Markets on a daily basis.
The port at Bideford was one of the busiest ones and home to lucrative trades of cotton and tobacco in the past. The quay has now been widened and is visited by several tourists for viewing the pleasant scenery or taking a boat ride.
There are cobbled streets which lead down to the harbour and one can walk around the place or take a bike. A number of clubs, restaurants, bars and modern shopping avenues have now opened up for tourists visiting the place. The town enjoys a mild climate with warm summers and mild winters.
