The Historic Warships at Birkenhead has one of the biggest collections of war ships in the UK. These includ the HMSM Submarine Onyx, HRH Prince Charles, HMS Bronnington and the Falklands veteran warship HMS Plymouth.
There is a coffee shop, information centre, souvenir shop and car park in the area as well. The Blue Planet Aquarium is a fun and educational place one should not miss.
The aquarium displays a wide variety of sea creatures including man eating piranhas, electric eels, sharks and others. At the centre of the aquarium is a seventy meter long tunnel which is the longest underwater tunnel in the world and an underwater safari allows you to observe the underwater life close-up.
Merseyside Maritime Museum has models of ships, full size historic vessels, ships and quaysides, paintings and street recreations including tales of the Titanic and the award winning Transatlantic slave gallery where there is a guided walking tour.
