Blyth: Attractions and more...
One can re-live the amazing days pertaining to steam railway at ‘Billy’, i.e. fore-runner of George Stephenson’s rocket. Several other engines relating to this era can also be found over here. One can ride on actual steam train; thereby having discovered story of ‘coal’ as well as impact of electricity on lives of the people. Temporary exhibitions make way for people of all age groups. The other engines which are on display include Jackie Milburn; which has been named after ‘Newcastle United legend’.
Stephenson railway Museum has been managed by ‘Tyne and Wear Museums’; on behalf of ‘North Tyneside Council’.
