Bolton is a huge town with a population of 139,400 people and is situated in the North West region of Greater Manchester.
It has gained popularity as the largest producer of cotton cloth in the world.
The Boltonian people are friendly and helpful if compared to people in other parts of Britain.
Although the people here have low incomes the town is experiencing a rise in property prices and has been given a fair-trade town status.
There are several libraries, museums, cinema complexes and open air parks and playgrounds in the town to be enjoyed.
The village of Bolton Abbey is small with quaint tea shops and pleasant views of the surrounding countryside.
On foggy days it can be quite misty and cloudy even at low altitudes.
However, the town experiences a temperate maritime climate with cool summers and mild winters. It has relatively high humidity.
