In Dorset, England, lies the Borough of Bournemouth where there is a large coastal resort town named as Bournemouth. This town is the largest settlement in Dorset as well as the largest settlement between Plymouth and Southampton. London is situated 105 miles towards the Northeast of Bournemouth. Along with Christchurch in the East and Poole in the West, Bournemouth forms the South East Dorset conurbation. Towards the Northeast of the town towards Hurn lies the Bournemouth International Airport. Towards the Northeast is the settlement of Ferndown and towards the Northwest is the small town of Wimborne.
As per the 2001 census, the population of Bournemouth was 163,444.
The warmest months are July and August when the temperature varies from 12 to 22 degrees Celsius. The coldest months are January and February when the temperature changes from 2 to 8 degrees Celsius. The yearly precipitation is 592.6 inches.
