Bridgnorth Cliff Railway
This is the oldest and one of the steepest internal funicular railways in the country. The railway track was opened with a purpose of joining the two parts of Bridgnorth, the high town and the low town, and also the jetty. It is popular with the tourists as an historic symbol, of the Victorian age. The rail operates on parallel tracks, with two carriages. The service is open all year round.
Shatterford Lakes
This is a perfect fishing venue for both the beginners and the enthusiast. It is said to be set in an idyllic place, which is in the centre of the Worcestershire Countryside. Here you can also catch a glimpse of natural wildlife, even though it isn’t a full fledged Country Park. To avoid overcrowding, limited fishing rods have been kept.
Bridgnorth Castle
The castle is on the edge high on a sandstone cliff, having a view over the Severn Valley. The castle is nothing more than ruins in today’s date, comprises of a 70 feet tall tower , and 12th centaury Norman tower. The tower is leaning at a startling angle of 15 degrees, which is almost three times greater than the leaning tower of Pisa. It is due to the attempt of blowing it up during the civil war.
