Tourist Guide Cheltenham

Cheltenham, better known as ‘Cheltenham spa’, can be described as a huge borough and spa town located in Gloucestershire, England.

Inhabitants of Cheltenham are called ‘Cheltonians’. Motto of this community is ‘Salubritas et Eruditio’, meaning ‘Health and Education’.

Cheltenham lies on edge of Cotswolds. Also, it has developed an image to be wealthy and respectable. River Chelt happens to flow through and under the town. Furthermore, it’s subject to floods on the regular basis.
Cheltenham is home of ‘flagship race’ of ‘British steeplechase horse racing’, i.e. the ‘Gold Cup’; which is basic event of Cheltenham Festival. It gets held every year in the month of March.

Commemorative plaques have been erected in town off late; thanks to Cheltenham Civic Society. Two colors: ‘blue’ and ‘green’ colors are being used to identify them. Blue color signifies celebration of famous people; whereas green color specifies important events and places.
