About 6 miles east of Chesterfield, one can visit the Bolsover Castle, which is situated in Derbyshire. The Bolsover Castle was originally built by the Peverel family in the 12th century and after a few years of neglect, purchased by Sir George Talbot in 1553. The Castle regularly hosts historic and also cultural events every year and this site is quite ideal for family picnics.
