Clitheroe Castle is the major tourist attraction in Clitheroe. The castle is considered to be the smallest Norman Keep in England. The castle is built on a 35 meter high limestone outcrop.
This is the oldest construction in Lancashire County. Clitheroe castle is the only historical construction which possessed a royal garrison. The garrison was built during the English Civil War.
