Cockermouth is a civil parish and an ancient market town in Allerdale borough in Cumbria, England. One can visit the renovated market place which is presently one of the many central historical place within this beautiful town. It was host to various important events during its 800 years of history including playing host to famous historical armies and figures like Roman Empire and Robert the Bruce.
Many can visit the Kirkgate Centre, the major cultural place here that offers regular historical displays especially by the Cockermouth Museum Group. The cycleway that spans a high bridge over the Cocker offering panoramic view of the town and the river scape is worth it.
