Derby is a city in the East Midlands, England. Located on the banks of the River Derwent, the city has a population of 250,000 inhabitants. Also referred to as the ‘ghost capital of Britain’ owing to the paranormal sightings, it is the eighteenth largest region in England.
The climate of the city if of the tropical variety and remains pleasant the whole year round. Winters are mildly cold and pleasant while summers are hot and humid. The city receives torrential rains and is also prone to cyclones.
The history of the city is almost 2,000 years old. It was incorporated as a city in 1977 and was a major railway centre. Construction, engineering, finance and manufacturing are the major occupations today.
