Falmouth is the port located on the southern coast of Cornwall.

The place got its name after the River Fal. Falmouth is a well known seaside resort.

Since the town is situated on the seashore, its climate is milder than other regions in Cornwall. Due to its pleasant climate, which remains constant all round the year; it is visited by a large number of tourists every year. The mild weather fosters the growth of a variety of tender plants.

Some of the varieties are even rare in other parts of Britain. Because of this reason, one can see various beautiful gardens in the town. As per the 2001 census, the town consists of 20,775 people.

Several renowned personalities have visited this beautiful seaside town.

Florence Nightingale is one of them. Falmouth is regularly visited by the TV program and film makers.
