The Norfolk Nelson Museum revisits the life and work of Admiral Nelson. Better known as Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, he was an English flag officer famous for his service in the Royal Navy, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars.Visitors can explore his childhood, career years and famous battles up to his tragic death.
Visitors can also try the museum’s hammock, play ship games, examine cannons from Nelson’s time or relax with their family in the picnic area of the Maritime Courtyard. The museum is a Grade II listed Georgian merchant’s house.
The Norfolk Nelson Museum is supported the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund. Admission fees are £3.50 for adults ages 16 and older, £2.00 for children ages 3-6 (children under the age of 3 are free). Family tickets are available for £9.50 (2 adults and up to 4 children). Discounted rates are available for pre-booked groups. The museum is open Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 1:00pm to 4:00pm. For more information, call 01493 850 698.
