Tourist Guide Guildford
Guildford is a county town in Surrey, England. This bustling English town houses around 67,000 people and was voted the best shopping destination in England in 2004; it was also voted the ninth best place to live in Britain. With all the attractive features, it is a favoured tourist destination.
Blessed with a pleasant climate, Guildford is a sunny region. Summers are moderate while winters bring in the chill. The city has little or no snowfall and rainfall is also scanty. The city is visitor friendly in every season.
Guildford was earlier a Saxon village called the Guilden ford. The place developed into a town in the tenth century and has become a dynamic city. The economic growth has been brought about largely by the service industry with well-known technology companies located here.
