The Parish Church of St John the Baptist is an impressive landmark with beautiful stained glass windows, ornate carvings and a statue of an Old Tristram. This fifteenth century church has been built on the site where the head of John the Baptist is buried.
Halifax Playhouse is a building covered with ivy, which stages a number of shows and theatre performances of both contemporary and classic importance. There is a seating arrangement of two hundred and sixty people within the complex.
The Piece Hall in Halifax reminds one of the glorious industrial past of the region and is now reconstructed to hold a number of specialty shops situated in galleries on three levels.
Shibden Hall was built by the Otes family in 1420 and encompasses a folk museum, a golf course, a steam hauled miniature railway and a boating lake, all of which are visited by several tourists in the summer months.
