The Hartlepool Maritime Festival is a major event which attracts thousands of people to celebrate the present, past and future of the maritime heritage of the town. There is music, street theatre, water sports, comedy, dance, breathtaking aerial and trapeze performances and more.
The Hartlepool Art Gallery, started in 1996, is an art and craft museum where one can see various exhibitions and learn more about different artists. There are numerous magazines, books and guided tours of the area available.
The tower clock of the museum provides excellent views of the town.
The Hartlepool Historic Quay and Museum is home to Europe’s oldest floating warship, called Tincomalee which has now been restored and is the centrepiece of the spectacular quay.
