Hastings is a picturesque town located in East Sussex County, England. Set amidst the shelter of tall hills, the town comprises a populace of about 80,000. This favoured seaside resort is famous for the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
The climate of Hastings is tropical in nature with sunny temperatures. Summers are moderate with cool evenings and slight precipitation. Heavy rainfall is experienced from October to January, while winters are mild. Thunderstorms are a common phenomenon.
Earlier an important fishing port, Hastings then became a watering place and finally, a resort town. It was also known as a retreat for painters and artists in the region. Although Hastings has high unemployment rates, it is developing as a tourist centre owing to its alluring landscapes and beautiful parks.
