Heanor: Attractions and more...
American Adventure was a large theme park which was constructed on part of the Shipley Country Park. The Park borders the south and west of the town. The Clarion Cycling Club was founded in the year 1929 in Heanor. The Lions local football team established in 1883, it is a member of the East Midlands Counties Football League. Heanor Juniors was a Youth team. The football team share their playing area with Heanor Town Cricket Club.
A number of cultural events and activities keep occurring in this city which touches everyone’s lives such as playing sports, making music, supporting local events, visiting the cinema and region’s buildings and landscapes. East Midlands Conference Centre is an eye- catching building built among 330 acres of tranquil leafy parkland on the University Park Campus. Shipley Country Park is a lovely with a playground, great walks, lakes, meadows, café with highchairs and woods.
