The Folk museum is a tourist’s attraction which was originally a butter market built in 1837. It was then converted into a museum and opened to the public in 1849. The museum hosts rocket inventions by Henry Trengrouse.

The Helston Monument was constructed in 1834 in the honour of Humphry Millet Grylls. He was the local solicitor and banker who helped in keeping the mine open. It saved the jobs of 1200 people.

Coronation Park is the best place to unwind. The park was developed in 1930s. Helston has a rich cultural history. Every year, on 8th May, the people in Helston hold the Flora or Furry Dance.

The school children dance on the streets on this day. This day is the celebration held for the departure of winter and the arrival of spring. This festival is assumed to have been started in the pre-Christian period.

The town hosts various other festivals and sporting events.
