Ipswich is a county town in East Anglia, England, located on the edge of the River Orwell. Awarded with the cleanest town award in 2006, the place houses a population of an estimated 150,000 inhabitants. It is the thirty-eighth largest urban area in England and a splendid tourist attraction.

A mild, temperate climate is enjoyed by the town, where summers are warm and winters are pleasant. Strong winds dominate all seasons with dramatic storms being a regular feature. Rainfall is irregular and occurs in short showers.

Earlier known as Gippeswick, the town developed in the Anglo-Saxon times and was an important trade. In recent times, the town has become a major agriculture centre with the famous agricultural manufacturers, the Ransomes Sims and Jefferies Limited situated here.
