There are numerous ways of traveling across the Solvent River to the Isle of Wight. Traveling by Hovercraft is quick and easy as there are several ports which are served from the mainland and it takes just ten minutes to reach the island. The Hoverbus links the Hovercraft with the Portsmouth city center and the Southsea mainline railway station. Children under 5 years of age are allowed to travel free.
