Mostly the city has maintained a clean atmosphere. It also contains a popular market, a number of autonomous retailers and the largest shopping center which has 30 units. Parsonage Retail Park is a huge shopping complex which includes the names of JJB, Halfords, Sainsburys and the Beefeate family restaurant which are situated in the main center of Leigh. Besides this Shop mobility scheme, the bus station is also near to the main center.
For entertainment the Leigh people visit various art galleries and the public library which is situated near the Civic Square of the Turnpike Centre. Rope-manufacture and Ash Park Silk are the local industries which are surrounded by a number of clubs like Leigh RUFC, Rugby Union club and athletics club. The city has a large sports area which has a capacity of 10,000 stadiums.
