Lichfield lies in Staffordshire in the west midlands in England.
The city has a population of 31,000 as per the 2001 census.
The city is known for its 3 spired cathedral and retains its importance as a religious center.
Although the city is not dominated by a particular industry it had made some progress in the wool and leather industry in the past followed by brewing in the nineteenth century.
The city experiences a temperate and humid climate but due to global warming the summers are getting drier, the winters more humid and warm and spring falls before February.
The city is an ideal place for taking a break from ones hectic schedule and indulging in activities like boating, cycling and walking in the countryside.
One can also take part in the Lichfield Festival which is a ten day annual festival that takes place in July and includes concerts, competitions, jazz and classical shows, recitals and more.
