There are 3 tunnels under River Mersey. The Mersey Ferry provides an important link between Liverpool and the Wirral as well as a tourist attraction. There is the Leeds and Liverpool Canal which was built between 1770 and 1816. This canal links Liverpool and the Mersey to Leeds and the River Aire. There are the local long distance coach services which arrive at and depart from the Norton Streeet Coach Station. There are 2 termini for local buses, one is Queen Square Bus station and the other is the Paradise Street Interchange.
