Buses have been used on the London streets since 1829. The London Bus is one of the London’s principal icons, the archetypal red rear entrance double deck Route master being recognized worldwide. The majority of buses in London are red and the red buses remain an iconic symbol of the city. Most of the local buses within London form a network that is managed by London Buses which is an arm of Transport for London.
